IOTA use case suggestions / DLT properties

Hi all, i thought i would share some basic DLT properties which can be built upon, and will be helpful when it comes to thinking up ideas for Davids upcoming competition. They may seem obvious in retrospect.

DLT's are very good to make static data dynamic

° A static expiration date on food or medicines can be made dynamic depending on the variables the food or medicine has been exposed to, instead of saying it will expire on 01/01/2019 it can say it is dark green / 'OK' to use at that time

° “set” dates for carrying out a tasks can be made dynamic. i.e. if plants and flowers were previously set to be watered every 6 days starting from 01/11/2018, this could be made dynamic by changing the date if there was rain that day (picked up by IoT sensors), and a colour coded range used instead which would show when the plants and flowers should be watered between.

° A “one time” static email address will forward emails to a variable one. Any allowed email to the variable will be forwarded to the users real “static” email. The real static email can send receipt confirmation through the “one time” email. Good spam prevention.

DLT's are good to make dynamic data static.

° Existing tracking methods such as printing temporary baggage labels for flights can be made redundant - it is much easier to make a random label and tell the updated flights to link to it.

° If a flight changes, there is no need to print a new ticket. The existing ticket can be used and will reference the new flight

IOTA could be well suited towards securing authenticity.

° If there are any identity reading devices (such as palm vein scanners) in the vicinity that are reading user or bank identification that have just 'popped up' they can be flagged as potentially malicious and will require extra security questions / verification before they can be used. Qubic can be used to build an IDoT reputation system.

IOTA could further control this through smart contracts.

I have shared some of these ideas on medium: https://medium.com/@jamie_hicks/future-flight-an-iota-amalgamation-57bd74aa0a8f
